Meet These Inspiring Candle Artisans

Looking for a spark of inspiration for your candle-making craft? We've curated a list of truly inspiring artisans from across North America who are taking candle-making to new heights.

Charlestone Candle Co (South Carolina)

This brand is a testament that the possibilities are endless when you do things from the heart. What started as a fun passion project for Kristen Schwiers is now a full-fledged candle business. The idea was to create candles inspired by different things and places in their city, Charleston. She started with an Etsy shop; now her product line can be found across the United States. This family-owned business now offers more than just candles.  Charleston Candle Co. sells soaps, gift sets and linen products.

Calyan Wax Co (Texas)

"Soy Candles with a Mission", is the brand's tagline. And, rightfully so.

This Texas-based company offers handcrafted, 100% soy wax candles. Every purchase is dedicated to supporting Texas nonprofit communities. Five per cent of the company’s revenue goes to NGOs who working to end human trafficking in America. Calyan offers Scent Discovery Kit (mini candles) so you can test and pick your favorite scents. They also have a shop in Arlington where you can watch their candle-making team work on their magic.

Voluspa (California)

Theirs is a story familiar to many aspiring artisans. Voluspa started in a kitchen and now has a global patronage of customers. They focus on artistry, with a product line that is created after their inspiration.  Their candles are hand-poured using their proprietary coconut wax blend. They offer refills which is a great concept for eco-conscious customers.

Waxman Candles (Kansas)

They've been serving their customers since 1970 and the multi-generational success of their business earned them the "coolest candle shop on Earth" nickname. Waxman Candles offers a variety of candles including soy wax, paraffin and beeswax candles. They still carry the coveted Silhouette Candles which were popular back in the 70's.

Aunt Sadies (Vermont)

The story behind Aunt Sadie's is as enchanting as their handcrafted creations. Every candle is meticulously hand-poured within the confines of a vintage 1865 barn, infusing each one with a touch of history and charm. The company's journey began in 1997 with a simple idea – to hand-dip taper candles as thoughtful holiday gifts.

Since then, Aunt Sadie's has become renowned for their long-burning candles, which have become a source of pride for the company. Their signature "candle-in-a-can" is a testament to their dedication to quality and longevity. With a burn time of approximately 65 hours, these candles are designed to brighten up any space with their warm, inviting glow for an extended period time.

Cascade Candle Co (Oregon)

Their product lines are inspired by the plants and blossoms found in Central Oregon. Cascade Candle Co offers a year-round collection and seasonal candle collection as well as candle-making kits. This family-owned business also offers custom candles for special occasions.

Enchanted Sugar (New Mexico)

Enchanted Sugar's product line is a celebration of sweet-smelling delights, crafted with care and a commitment to quality. They use only 100% American-grown soy wax infused with organic botanicals, ensuring a pure and fragrant experience with every burn.

Their offerings span a range of soy candles and melts, each meticulously hand-poured to perfection. The candles are housed in elegant reusable glass tumblers or votives, while their travel-friendly melts come in recyclable tins.
