These candles combine the simplicity of scentless beeswax with the visual allure of honeycomb-inspired designs. This project uses 100% natural materials to create candles that are as beautiful as they are functional. This step-by-step guide will craft three stunning candles that celebrate the natural charm of beeswax while offering a clean and elegant burn.  

Core Materials

Wax Base

• 42 oz Scentivore Pure Yellow Beeswax
• 2.1 oz (5%) coconut oil (softens the wax for enhanced burn quality and longevity)
  

Essential Materials

• 3 ECO-12 or ECO-14 wicks (test both for optimal results)
• 3 clear, heat-resistant glass jar vessels (10 oz each)
• 3 Scentivore metal wick bars
• 3 wick stickers

Decorative Enhancements

• Thin organic beeswax sheets with a honeycomb texture (to line the interiors of the jars)
• Small beeswax hexagon molds (optional for a decorative touch on the top surface)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Vessels

• Clean each glass jar with rubbing alcohol to ensure they’re clear and polished.
• Attach the wicks to the center of the jars using wick stickers.
• Secure the wicks upright with metal wick holders.

Step 2: Prepare the Wax

• Melt 42 oz of beeswax in a double boiler, ensuring the temperature reaches 185°F.
• Remove from heat and allow the wax to cool slightly to 180°F.
• Add 2.1 oz (5%) of coconut oil and stir gently for 2 minutes to ensure an even blend.

Step 3: Line the Jars with Honeycomb Sheets

• Trim the honeycomb sheets to fit the interior of each jar using a precision cutting tool.
• Slightly warm the sheets with a heat gun for flexibility.
• Use a small amount of melted beeswax as adhesive and press the sheets into place inside the jars. Smooth them gently to remove air bubbles.

Step 4: Pour the Wax

• Pre-warm the jars slightly with a heat gun to prevent thermal shock.
• Divide the melted wax evenly among the three jars, pouring approximately 14 oz into each jar at 160–165°F.
• Optional: While the wax is soft (not fully liquid), embed small beeswax hexagons into the top surface for a decorative touch.

Step 5: Final Touches

Use a heat gun to smooth the surface of the candles for a polished, professional look. Trim the wicks to 1/4 inch.

Curing Instructions

Place the candles in a warm, draft-free room at approximately 75°F for the first 24 hours. Allow the candles to cool completely over the next 48 hours. Let the candles cure for 1–2 weeks for optimal burn quality.
